A
personal note from Jessica:
I just
wanted to send out a quick catch up note to everyone.
As I write
this, I am sitting around a pile of boxes in my new apartment
in Charlotte, NC. I just moved, literally 3 hours ago from my
apartment in
Huntersville,
NC, where I have lived for the past year and a half, to an
apartment right next to the University of North Carolina,
where I will be going to school in the fall. My last day of
High School was Friday and this coming weekend I was supposed
to be at my graduation ceremony receiving my diploma, but that
won’t be happening, since I will be 3000 miles away racing at
the Bullring in Las Vegas. I must say my High School years
have been anything but normal, but I wouldn’t trade my racing
career for normal….not a chance.
I am so
excited to be racing at
Las Vegas
this Saturday in my very first NASCAR K&N Pro Series race. I
need to thank Mike Cesario from Racers Drive for putting this
whole deal together. This is my next step up the ladder as I
work towards my goal of racing in the NASCAR Cup Series.
I am
looking forward to Vegas after winning the Pole in qualifying
and earning 2 top 5 finishes at Hickory Motor Speedway
Saturday night. We had some mechanical issues in both races
that kept us from putting on a real challenge for the win, but
it was great to finally capture my first pole in NASCAR Late
Models with Revolution Racing and winning the first Pole for
the NASCAR D4D program at Hickory.
I will be
racing in a Naake Motorsports prepared K&N race car, well it
really doesn’t get much better for me. Naake Motorsports is a
first class race team and Mike Naake is a great coach. I had
an opurtunity to test with the team a few weeks ago and they
really believe in me and my driving skills. As a driver it is
very important to know that the race team is behind me 100%.
I will also
be racing with Naake Motorsports and Racers Drive at Sonoma
during the NASCAR Cup weekend on Saturday in the K&N Pro
Series race on June 25th. I can’t wait to get back on a Road
Course, last time I road raced was 3 years ago…hopefully I
haven’t forgot how to turn right.
I will also
be interviewed on a radio show called SHOWDOWN this Thursday
night on RaceTalkRadio.com that covers the NASCAR Touring
divisions. My live interview will air Thursday night at
9:45pm ET (6:45pm
PT) I hope you have the opportunity to listen in.
The show
replay is heard on the fans' scanners at every NASCAR Sprint
Cup race too.
I
especially need to thank Ron Sutton and Lyn St. James, who
believed in me when I was only 14 years old and have taught me
so much these past 4 years….I know I would have never gotten
the opportunities’ I have in front of me now without their
support and belief in me.
Thank you
to everyone that has supported and believed in me.
