DRIVE
FOR DIVERSITY DRIVER SIGNS WITH A
NASCAR
K&N PRO SERIES WEST TEAM
18 year
old, Jessica Brunelli, will drive the 88 Pick-n-Pull Chevy
Monte Carlo at the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at
Roseville,
and the season finale at Phoenix International Raceway.
Brunelli has had two seasons in the NASCAR Driver for
Diversity (D4D) program racing in the Whelen All-American
Series.
In June
2011, Brunelli tested the number 88 K&N car with Naake
Motorsports, and went on to drive for them at the Bullring in
Las Vegas and Infineon.
“She
raced smart and got a lot of media attention”, says team owner
Mike Naake. “Pick-n-Pull became interested after seeing
Brunelli at Infineon. They felt she would represent them well
and they really like the fact that Jessica is a positive role
model for young girls.”

Klauer Motorsports of
Roseville
California,
a newly formed partnership between Naake Motorsports and Tom
Klauer Motorsports, will run the K&N Pro Series West in 2012.
They are in talks with potential sponsors, including
Pick-n-Pull, and are considering running a late model in the
Whelen All American Series.
The team
is racing some late model events with another up-and-coming
young woman, 17 year old Mindy McCord from
Billings,
Montana.
The 2012 K&N Pro Series and the Whelen All American Series
seats for Naake-Klauer Motorsports are not yet contracted, but
both young women are candidates.
“Brunelli is high on our list of driver candidates for our K&N
team for next season”, says Mike Naake.
Brunelli
has been racing just about anything she can get her hands on
since she was seven years old, starting with go karts, then
quads, modified, and late models.
In
addition to NASCAR’s D4D program, Brunelli has participated in
several other driver development programs including Ron
Sutton’s Winner Circle, Finishline Racing School, and Lyn St.
James Women in the Winner’s Circle Academy.
